Our forecasts use a simple 3-tier risk scale to highlight areas where severe weather may develop.

HIGH POTENTIAL
Conditions are favourable for organized severe storms. Stay alert and monitor updates closely.

MODERATE-ELEVATED
Scattered severe storms are possible, and some storms may become strong to severe. Have a plan and stay weather aware.

AREA TO MONITOR
Conditions are being monitored for potential development. Severe weather is possible, but confidence or coverage may be more limited.

FORECAST AREAS CAN CHANGE
Risk areas are approximate and may shift as new forecast guidance, observations and storm trends become available. Check back for the latest updates.

FORECAST UPDATES
Conditions can change quickly. Forecast maps may be updated as new data becomes available.
